We are excited to celebrate the power of love and acceptance. Like Taehyung and Jungkook, we support everyone’s right to love who they love.
Stay tuned throughout the month as we share the many ways Taehyung and Jungkook have shown their support.
💜 Taehyung & Jungkook: Loud and Loving
From very early on, Taehyung and Jungkook have used their platform to share their love for other artists — including many in the LGBTQ+ community. 🌈 Representation matters, and this level of visibility has a huge impact. Here’s a thread of just SOME beautiful examples over the years that show their support, inclusivity, and love.
💫 Swipe through to witness allyship in action.
🌈 Taehyung and Jungkook’s Support for LGBTQ+ Themed Films
Taehyung has been a vocal supporter of the film, Call Me By Your Name, an Academy Award–nominated film from 2017, based on a 2007 coming-of-age novel by André Aciman. Set in the 1980s, it centers on the sudden and powerful romance that blossoms between student Elio and American scholar Oliver, chronicling their relationship and the 20 years that follow.
Tae first mentioned the movie in May of 2019. He dramatically performed part of a piano piece, “Le Jardin Féerique from Ma Mère l’Oye” by Szervánszky & Cavaye, from the movie’s OST. A few weeks later in June, he mentioned his love for the movie during a live broadcast with J-Hope. A year later in June of 2020, he recited some lines from the movie during another live broadcast. In this scene, Mr. Perlman delivers a powerful speech to Elio. As recent as 2024, the film continues to inspire Taehyung, as seen in his photo shoot with Harper’s Bazaar Korea, the colors of which were inspired by the movie.

🌈 Jungkook’s Support for Love, Simon
While not specifically named, it is widely accepted that Jungkook has shown his support for the movie by referencing its most famous line, “I am still me…” from the film, Love, Simon on more than one occasion. Love, Simon, released in 2018, is a coming-of-age film about a gay high school student, Simon, who is navigating the process of coming out and finding love. The movie explores themes of self-discovery, acceptance, and the struggles faced by LGBTQ+ individuals, particularly in high school.

Jungkook has referenced the iconic line “I am still me…” from Love, Simon multiple times.
🌈 Taehyung and Jungkook Channel Leslie Cheung’s Legacy
The iconic dancing scene by Leslie Cheung from the 1990 film Days of Being Wild has been shared and replicated by Taehyung — and even Jungkook — on multiple occasions, including a video Tae shared from his home. Before his tragic death in 2003 due to severe depression, Leslie Cheung was a beloved Hong Kong actor and singer, and one of the first public figures in the Chinese-speaking world to come out and openly support LGBTQ+ rights. His partner, Daffy Tong, continues to honor him with heartfelt posts on Instagram during their birthdays and on the anniversary of his passing — even after more than 18 years.

🌈 Taehyung’s Support for the 2024 Film Queer
Most recently, Taehyung has shown his support for the 2024 movie Queer by liking multiple Instagram posts announcing its release. The movie Queer, based on William S. Burroughs' semi-autobiographical novella, follows William Lee, a disillusioned American expatriate in 1950s Mexico City, as he pursues connection and meaning through his relationship with Eugene Allerton. Lee, a drug-addicted man, becomes infatuated with the young and seemingly aloof Allerton, leading to a complex and ultimately surreal journey.

🌈 Supporting LGBTQ+ Designers and Inclusive Brands
Taehyung and Jungkook have often shown their support for LGBTQ+ clothing designers and companies that celebrate inclusivity and diversity. These choices aren’t just fashion — they’re statements of solidarity. 🌟 From wearing pieces by queer designers to amplifying brands that openly support LGBTQ+ communities, their fashion is as meaningful as it is stylish.
1. Representation and Inclusion:
Brands like Ajobyajo, Jacquemus, and AllSaints — often worn by Taehyung and Jungkook — are known for embracing diversity, gender fluidity, and queer representation in their collections and campaigns.

🌈 Taehyung — Then and Now: Celebrating Bold Expression
Taehyung has always embraced bold and expressive fashion that aligns with LGBTQ+ inclusive values. One standout example is his support for the JW Anderson x LVXNBA collaboration — a line that merges high fashion with statements of identity, individuality, and queerness.
From early stages of his career to now, Tae’s evolving style has reflected a fearless and fluid approach to fashion — one that uplifts designers breaking traditional boundaries and embraces the idea that fashion is for everyone.

🌈 Jungkook: Subverting Convention
Jungkook continues to challenge gender norms and societal expectations through his fashion choices. As a global ambassador for Calvin Klein, he has embraced androgynous, sensual styles that redefine masculinity and invite conversations around identity and expression. Additionally, his support for Graffitionmind’s RLOVEUTION line highlights his affinity for art that celebrates love in all forms. The "RLOVEUTION" message — blending “revolution” and “love” — reflects a movement toward freedom, individuality, and LGBTQ+ solidarity.

🌈 Taehyung and Jungkook at the ‘Dream’ Premiere
At the ‘Dream’ movie premiere, Taehyung and Jungkook once again showcased their bold and inclusive fashion choices. Taehyung wore a piece by Juntae Kim, a designer known for fluid, gender-defying silhouettes and support for marginalized voices in fashion. Jungkook, meanwhile, turned heads in Enfants Riches Déprimés — a brand that frequently explores themes of rebellion, identity, and queerness. Their choices reflected not only their evolving personal style, but also a continued commitment to spotlighting diverse designers and queer-forward fashion.

🌈 Celebrating Pride!
Taehyung and Jungkook have embraced and celebrated Pride in joyful and public ways over the years. In 2023, Jungkook visited Disneyland Paris during Pride celebrations, capturing moments in front of rainbow-themed decor — a subtle yet powerful nod to the occasion. 🎨 Taehyung’s Artistic Inspiration 📸
Over the years, Taehyung has shown his love and support for many photographers and artists, often sharing how they inspire him both personally and professionally. Many of these creators are proudly part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Taehyung often cites Jean-Michel Basquiat — a Black, queer artist — as one of his deepest sources of inspiration.
📸 Photographer Ante Badzim
"Vante" is the creative pseudonym that Kim Taehyung uses for his photography and visual art. The name is a heartfelt nod to two artists he admires deeply: Vincent van Gogh and Australian minimalist photographer Ante Badzim. Taehyung has cited Badzim’s serene, contemplative photography as a major influence on his own style.

🎨 Andy Warhol & the 'Flower Buddies'
While curating his ‘Flower Buddies’ brooch, Taehyung drew a thoughtful comparison to the works of iconic pop artist Andy Warhol. Warhol, a queer art legend, was known for transforming everyday symbols into vibrant cultural statements. Taehyung’s brooches echo Warhol’s spirit—playful, emotional, and symbolic—bringing together art, identity, and sentiment.

📸 Photographer Ryan McGinley
Known for his dreamlike, youthful, and liberating imagery, Ryan McGinley is one of the most celebrated queer photographers of our time. Taehyung has shown admiration for McGinley’s work, which often celebrates queer identity, freedom, and self-expression—values that resonate with V's own artistic lens.
